Three years later to celebrate the exclusive focus on mentoring, the company was rebranded as The Mentoring Institute Inc. [TMI]. More recently, a legal name change was made to CMSI - Corporate Mentoring Solutions Inc. Dr. William A. Gray undertook his pioneering research in 1978, then was joined shortly thereafter in 1980 by Marilynne Miles Gray. By 1987, they had developed mentoring-specific tools, models and workshops with ongoing development continuing to the present. Client feedback indicates that:
These two points are especially noteworthy because in more than 75% of the programs Mentoring Solutions has been invited to “fix”, the programs were developed by competitors or in-house. In 1998, Mentoring Solutions began to make its field-tested paper-based products accessible via the world’s first multi-functional system on the Internet -- OMS Online Mentoring Solution System. To suggest the concept of collaboration that occurs, the most recent generation of the software has been called Colaboro®. The work of Mentoring Solutions has won awards such as: Mentors of Mentors Delegates Award at the First International Conference on Mentoring; Hewlett Packard's Best Corporate Program; Varian Associates (Radiation Division) Best Program Award; Marion College Professional Development Award for Mentoring. |
