Feature Complete: A scalable web-based software solution utilizing a modular design that can be configured to reflect the precise needs of your business or organization. Any feature/function/tool can be enabled for any particular group quickly and easily without additional costs. The program can be set up or configured in over 100 different ways.
Hierarchical Authorizations: that permit Administrator, Primary Coordinator, or Secondary Coordinator restricted access to authorized functions based on your preferred setup.
Installation Options: Colaboro can be quickly and easily set up to reflect your precise needs, usually without any additional cost or Change Order Requests. We can install your Logo and use your preferred colors. We can use your core Competencies or Topics for Discussion without a COR. Colaboro natively supports many different kinds of Mentoring and Coaching using a variety of different pool configurations. We can easily change the software to use your preferred terms, such as changing "protege" to "mentee").
Basic Setups: comes in four basic setups that can be tailored to suit your needs easily and effectively.
- Interest Groups users select an Interest and join this Group; can email other members, no Coordinator required.
- Knowledge Transfer connects Knowledge Providers to Knowledge Seekers (and vice versa), no Coordinator required.
- Skill Coaching coaches can create a 5-Step Coaching Plan or quickly modify an existing Coaching Plan Template.
- Mentoring Mentor or Protégé create Mentoring Action Plan (or select an existing plan from available Mentoring Action Plan Templates) to achieve complex goals over time.
User-Friendly: User-friendly interface provides easy-to-use screens with clear directions on use, and based on extensive client feedback. Users can elect to act as a protege, mentor or in both roles depending on their needs and expertise.
User Availability: Users can easily make them-selves available/unavailable to be matched with other users. Authorized Pool Coordinators can easily make any user available/unavailable to be matched.

Needs/Expertise Inventory: This tool identifies needs and expertise (using core Competencies or Topics for Discussion). The Competencies or Topics can be supplied by the client, or use our proven Business Competencies. Each pool of users can have its own distinctive Competencies or Topics installed either initially or by Authorized Coordinators.
Mentoring Compatibility Indicator: The MCI ensures interpersonal compatibility and helps to prevent clashes.
Mentoring Style Indicator: The MSI identifies Preferred Mentoring Styles that enable partners to work well together. It enables mentors to provide Equipping and Empowering assistance that closely matches protege needs. It includes “How to Mentor” training on flexibility using 4 Mentoring Styles & a 6-Step Mentoring Process, backed by years of research and testing.
Self-Directed Mentoring: With this type of Pool, users find their own best-fit partners; the Coordinator can enable specific functions and tools:
- Do self-directed search using Needs/Expertise Matching
- Do self-directed search using Compatibility Matching
- Do self-directed search using Demographics
- Each different pool can have different Competencies/Topics/Demographics
- Coordinator can match those individuals who are unable to find a suitable partner
Formal Coordinated Mentoring: With this type of Pool, Coordinators match best-fit partners, using:
- Auto-Match to quickly match a group of participants
- Grid Matching to match one user to one or several partners (e.g. for group mentoring)
- Column Matching for nominees or persons already in a mentoring relationship
- Each different pool can have different Competencies/Topics/Demographics
Mentoring Action Plans: Our online Mentoring Action Plans keep partners on track while completing activities to achieve a complex goal. The protege or mentor marks each Activity complete to ensure progress towards goal attainment. Coordinators can monitor Plan progress & completion for both individuals and groups.
Coaching Plans: Our online Coaching Plans offers a proven 5-Step Plan for learning a specific behavioral skill via coaching. A Secondary Assessor (Coach, Learner or 3rd Party) marks each step complete to ensure progress; a Primary Assessor (Coach or 3rd Party) ensures skill mastery by Learner. Coordinators can monitor plan progress and completion for individuals and groups.
Progress Reports: Colaboro offers a progress reporting system that allows coordinators to monitor both group and individual progress and display the results in a variety of formats.
Online Surveys: Pool Coordinators can create or copy/modify a Survey at any point in the program to assess benefits or gather feedback. Surveys can be produced using a fully featured Survey generator, can be saved as Survey templates, or modified from existing surveys. The Pool Coordinator can publish surveys via email to targeted groups or roles. The results are viewable in a Summary Report and can be exported in MS Excel format for more sophisticated analysis.
Email Templates: Colaboro contains a library of tested email templates for notifying matched partners, etc. The Coordinator can edit these and create new emails.
Virtual Library: This is a library of CMSI materials relating to mentoring and coaching, based on 28 years experience. Coordinators can add additional documents to the Virtual Library.
Secure Hosting: We host Colaboro on Sun Servers running Solaris 10 to provide secure, scalable enterprise level support and security to protect private information from unauthorized access. If desirable we can add Verisign SSL Certification. These servers permit 100,000+ users to access Colaboro’s functions via the internet.
Lower Costs: Colaboro permits more users to participate at less cost. Clients can license only those Colaboro functions they need, for the duration needed, and for varied blocks of users.
Reduce Costly Change Order Requests: Colaboro has been developed since 1999 with input from over 30 clients. This led us to build in Implementation Orders so we can enable functions to meet client requirements; we can install a client’s logo, colors and change "protege" to "mentee" if desired. This permits different kinds of Mentoring Pools to be quickly configured for different groups -- without costly Change Order Requests.
