Mentoring Program - course materials
A note about course materials listed below: readers will notice that our years of experience and research has led us beyond offering program participants long lists of questions they must answer in order to be matched--and successfully at that! Long lists of questions are an antiquated, make-work and haphazard means of developing and growing what has been called --in the prestigious Dictionary of Occupational Titles "--the most complex of all human [work-related] relationships".
Mentoring for Results: Shortcourse workbook
Contains a series of field-tested activities that help partners to progress and quickly pinpoint what to do. Activities range from Agreeing on Expectations, Concerns and Desired Benefits to Levels of Awareness diagram that clarifies why training is needed by all partners in a program. 12 pages.
Mentoring Style Indicator (MSI)
This self-scoring tool is currently available in 6 versions: Business & Government (New Hires), Career Development, College Students, New Teachers, Educational Administrators and Generic,
Using 6 common scenarios, this tool enables each partner to quickly and accurately indicate their preferred mentoring style. As a followup, partners work together to talk about responses and implications for the relationship. We are able to custom design versions.
This is the only mentoring tool in Buros Mental Measurements Yearbook.
6-Step Mentoring PocketCard
Two-sided Card shows 6-step strategy for using 4 Mentoring Styles. Partners refer to the card as they work together. The goal is to use this time-tested Model to help proteges handle challenging situations and understand the dynamic nature of the mentoring relationship.
Leader's Guide for the MSI
This time-tested Manual covers essential topics for those who will be leading workshops (often the Program Coordinator or inhouse trainers).
